Debate & Moot Court at the Upper School

Poly has a rich Debate & Moot Court tradition producing many talented students and alumni who bring their strengths honed in this program into Poly classrooms, to college, and beyond. Under the leadership of Director of the Upper School Jose Melgoza, there is great potential to do even more.

Poly has pledged $30,000 to further deepen the Upper School Debate and Moot Court program in the 2024-2025 school year. Your gift of any size will help us unlock this 1:1 match!

With your help, we can provide the highest quality coaching and faculty sponsorship to ensure the Upper School program meets the standards of rigor and integrity that we know contribute to student success.

We plan to upgrade the Debate and Moot Court program to a higher caliber accessible to all. Our next step is to cohesively link the excellent Poly Middle School Debate Program with the growing Upper School program, and to continue to leverage the gains made these past two years well into the future.

Together, we can provide a sense of community and pride for a group of students dedicated to the values of academic preparation, collaboration, and knowledge.
